Explore Missouri’s cultural and natural resources through a special interactive tour or program every Tuesday at 2 p.m. “Tuesdays @ 2” are geared to children age 6-12 years, but people of any age are welcome. Have you ever picked up a rock and wondered what is inside, or what it is made of? Minerals can be found by themselves or in rocks, but how do you tell the difference? Learn how cookies can help us tell the difference between rocks and minerals, such as granite and quartz.Missouri State Parks

The Friends of Rock Bridge State Park have opened registration for the 2012 Nature Detectives! Nature Detectives is a free class for preschoolers (age 3 – 6) and a caregiver.
You must register in advance.

A naturalist will lead hands-on activities for the kids. The program lasts a little over an  hour and enrollment is limited to 20 per class. Classes meet in the Devil’s Icebox parking lot.

This great family-friendly event is held at Whiteman Air Force Base in Knob Noster, Missouri. Admission is free! Permitted items include: folding chairs, strollers, wagons, purses/diaper bags, beverages in clear containers, cameras, wheelchairs, and binoculars.
