Stop by the deck at Bass Pro for a FREE fun fishing experience for the kids! Every Saturday and Sunday from 12:00 – 4:00 p.m.(weather permitting) the kids can enjoy fishing on the deck with the Bass Pro staff. All equipment is provided.

Free Tours of Connor’s Cave 1 p.m. – 4 p.m.
Rock Bridge Memorial State Park
Every Saturday and Sunday afternoon June 30 through August 19  you can enjoy a free guided tour of Connor’s Cave using park lights and helmets. Walk the Devil’s Icebox Trail on your own until you reach Devil’s Icebox where volunteers will assist you. Learn about caves and bats. Tours last about 15 minutes. Expect to get your feet wet!  Arrive anytime between 1 p.m. and 4 p.m.  Reservations are not required.  The tours are recommended for ages 5 and up.

Mizzou Volleyball Team Meet & Greet 2 p.m.
Columbia Mall
The fall 2012 season is right around the corner for Mizzou Women’s Volleyball team. Come out and meet the players that rock the court. There will be lots of giveaways & prizes. You can even meet Truman and TJ the Tiger. Q106.1 will be broadcasting live from the event.

The Jefferson City Parks and Recreation and Missouri River Regional Library will be featuring several great movies under the stars in 2012!  Bring a blanket, pillow & a few snacks and get comfortable!  You’ll be able to enjoy a movie on the large, inflatable screen.  Be sure to arrive early to snag a prime spot… and don’t forget the bug spray!

Pre-show activities provided by the Friends of the Museum begin at 7:30 p.m.

Reading aloud to preschoolers improves their reading comprehension and vocabulary. Trained members of the Jumpstart Corps from the University of Missouri will read with small groups of children and parents in four 15-minute sessions, so you can drop by any time. Different books will be shared each session, and you may attend more than one if space allows. Ages 3-5 and parents.

  • The Columbia Public Library will be having a Dr. Seuss Tea Party on Sunday, March 4, 2012 from 2-3 p.m.   Feel free to come dressed as your favorite Dr. Seuss character. We will create zany crafts, eat snacks and read a favorite Dr. Seuss tale. Ages 4-8 with a parent. Registration begins Tuesday, February 21.

Two Mile Prairie Elementary School will hold its annual chili supper and book fair on Saturday, February 25, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tickets are $5 and can be purchased at the door. The ticket price includes chili, a hot dog, chips, dessert, and a drink. There will also be auction baskets available at the event.
