Giveaway

gDiapersI can’t tell you how excited I am to have the opportunity to share another awesome giveaway from gDiapers!!

gDiapers are adorable eco-friendly diaper covers with disposable and biodegradable inserts that can even be flushed! You can also use gCloth inserts and turn your gDiapers into cloth diapers!

I adore all of the cute color options available… so much cuter than boring disposable diapers! The picture to the left is my daughter’s 3 month photo shoot in her little gPants! I can’t wait to get some guppy green little gPants for my son that is due to arrive in May!

About gDiapers:

Kim and Jason Graham-Nye founded gDiapers in 2005. They had a baby on the way and a diaper decision to make. They found out some staggering, and literally earth-shattering news about conventional disposable diapers:

  • 20 billion diapers get thrown in the landfill every year in the US. They are the third largest contributor to landfills.
  • It takes up to 500 years for disposable diapers to biodegrade.
  • 90% of Americans use disposable diapers.

Today, gDiapers offers a colorful line of adorable diaper covers with 100% biodegradable* disposable inserts. gDiapers are as gentle on the earth as it is on babies. Parents are encouraged to break the habit of putting dirty diapers into the landfill and instead, are given healthier options for disposal: flushing, to put waste where waste belongs; or home-composting the wet ones, to turn diapers into a backyard resource; or even the washable route with the option of cloth inserts. It’s no longer the same old cloth vs. disposables diaper debate.

Giveaway Details:

gDiapers is generously offering Mid-Mo Kids Guide readers a chance to win the following AMAZING prize pack (valued at over $200!!):

  • one new limited edition global love gPants -$21.99 valuegDiapers global love lores
    • Loving the earth starts with the simplest of actions: changing diapers. And so, for this upcoming Earth Day, we are thrilled to release Global Love gPants, a soft vanilla diaper cover artistically designed with “fill the world with love” in blues and greens, colors reminiscent of our planet. Use with biodegradable* disposable inserts or cloth.
  • one package biodegradable* disposable inserts -$14.99 value
    • Reduce baby’s footprint from day one with 100% biodegradable* disposable inserts that go easy on the planet. Disposable inserts tuck inside colorful diaper covers called gPants. Disposable inserts come in two size options: small inserts fit newborn and small gPants, medium/large/xl inserts fit medium, large and extra large gPants. Get them by the package as you need them, or buy by the case so you have plenty on hand. Biodegradable* disposable inserts are made of cellulose, fluff pulp and super absorber. They can be flushed, home composted (wet ones only please) or tossed. When the insert is soiled, simply remove from the gPant, dispose, and tuck in a new insert for a fresh change. Use the same gPant through multiple changes. Change out the snap-in pouch when dirty. (* Disposable inserts are biodegradable in home composts per ASTM standards by a third party independent lab (wet ones only please). Nothing truly biodegrades in a landfill. But gDiapers gives you options for disposal. Flush, compost or toss. The choice is yours.)
  • gDiapers gtote_zipperedone zipper gTote by SeaBags - $169.99 value
    • The new zipper gTote is a custom-designed everyday bag from the resourceful folks at Sea Bags. These durable, sporty, sturdy gems are made with recycled Dacron sail, heavy-duty hemp handles and a zipper closure, so nothing escapes.A wide center opening could easily fit a chihuahua, but we don’t necessarily recommend it. But now you know how roomy it is. Multiple interior pockets will hold gPants, inserts, gWipes, water bottles, snacks, shoes, socks, and quite possibly, a dose of organized sanity.Because Sea Bags are made of recycled sails, they do show signs of wear and tear, proof that they really have sailed the world. Scuffs are part of their charm. 10” handle drop. 14″ x 14″ x 7″. Made in the USA.

WTE When You're ExpectingWhen I was expecting my first child I was told that the “must have” book(s) were from the What to Expect series… and boy was that true.  As a first-time mom, I thought that I could just figure most things out as I went. Which sounded good in theory until I had some crazy pregnancy symptom that I had never experienced before. Do I go to the hospital? Do I rest? I had no idea!

The first book that helped me was What to Expect When Expecting. It helped me understand what was happening with each week of pregnancy plus my husband loved keeping up with his growing daughter! Before she was born I bought the next book in the series, What to Expect the First Year. I actually bought the Kindle version since I figured it would be easier to access in the middle of the night (it was!)!

With my daughter just turning two I am just now cracking open What to Expect the Second Year. It’s hard to believe that she’s already a two! I’m sure it will come in handy just like the previous two have.

Celadon Road Review & Giveaway!

by Mid-Mo Kids Guide

We are excited to share a new product review & giveaway. I was recently given the opportunity to review a few Celadon Road products by Dina Guittar, an independent consultant. Celadon Road is a growing company that offers organic, eco-friendly household products. They were even selected by Women’s Day Magazine as one of the best direct sales companies.

Dina sent me Orange Laundry Detergent and Hand Sanitizer. I enjoyed the scent of the detergent and was impressed that it only takes 1-2 tablespoons of detergent to work! Since the product is all-natural, I don’t have to worry about it irritating my daughter’s skin! The hand sanitzer is the perfect size for my purse! It doesn’t contain alcohol so it didn’t dry out my hands like most hand sanitizers do!

Giveaway Details:

Dina has generously offered Mid-Mo Kids Guide readers three chances to win their very own gift certificate to check out Celadon Road! To enter, follow the instructions below. If you choose to do the additional (optional) entries, be sure to follow the instructions! BabbaBox Review & Giveaway!

by Mid-Mo Kids Guide

We are excited to share a special guest product review & giveaway. Rhiannon of Lollipop Photography and her son reviewed an awesome product — BabbaBox! Check it out!

BabbaBox

When Mid-Mo Kids Guide gave me a chance to try out BabbaBox, I was thrilled! I love doing fun, educational activities with my 5-year old, but as a working mom, I don’t always have the time to pull materials and ideas together. Babba Boxes make it so easy to explore a topic in a fun way.

We got to preview two BabbaBoxes: one on our feelings, and one on the sun, moon and stars. Both were chock full of activities that kept us busy for days! Each box included 3-4 activities to learn about the topic, a high-quality toy to keep (binoculars for the star box; spy glasses to help identify others’ feelings), a cute book to read, and even a gift for parents as well (wine bottle stopper, and a back massager)! The boxes contain all the materials you need for the activities, and each project comes with detailed instructions, as well as talking points to help your child learn about how the activities relate to the topic.

The binoculars and spy glasses were a HUGE hit in our house. We did all but one of the activities in the boxes (we’re saving it for a rainy day), and his favorite was making star constellations with the sunprint paper. It was neat watching the paper change colors under direct sunlight and then again when we removed the star stickers. We also had fun making sock puppets, coloring emotion magnets, staying up late to check out the moon phases, and reading our two new books.

He loved all the BabbaBox activities. I loved the organization of the box and the fact that everything was provided. If you’re looking for an easy way to do educational craft projects and activities in your house, a BabbaBox subscription is the way to go.

Mid-Mo Kids Guide readers can also save 20% on your first box by using the coupon code MID20OFF when you place an order!

August 1, 2012

As a “new” mom I had trouble transitioning into solid/real food. My daughter, however, didn’t seem to have the same reluctance! We started trying out puffs & yogurt melts. I liked the Happy Puffs because they were much lower in sugar and didn’t have that terrible artificial smell. Yuck. Banana are by far our favorite! [...]
