Did you know that 7 out of 10 kids are not properly buckled into their car seat? Is your child’s car seat installed properly? Are you buckling your child into their car seat correctly?  Here’s your chance to find out!

The Jefferson City Fire Department & MoDOT will give child safety seat inspections from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. February 13-15.  You can go to the Fire Department Training Facility at 2304 Hyde Park Road in Jefferson City to have your seat checked.  Please call 573-634-6401 to schedule an appointment.

Lowe’s Build & Grow Clinics

Need something to do over the weekend? Lowe’s offers great projects that give your kids the opportunity to build something! Each participant receives a wooden project, apron, goggles, a patch, and a certification of merit upon completion of their project… all for free!

Space is limited, so be sure to sign up on Lowe’s website in advance. It looks like some locations are sold out for Saturday, January 28, 2012 but there were still openings for February 11, 2012 when this was published!

Veggie Tales Live will make it’s way to Columbia, Missouri on February 28, 2012 at Hazel Kinder’s Lighthouse Theater. There are two shows, 1:00 and 6:00 p.m. Snack bar will be available. A special “meet & greet” session for VIP ticket holders will be held after the show.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol’s National Missing Children’s Day Poster Contest is open to all Missouri fifth-grade students. Students can create an 11×14 poster that reflects the theme “Bring Our Missing Children Home.”

The overall first place winner for mIssouri will be entered in the national competition.
